BWise Positioned in Leaders Quadrant of the 2013 Magic Quadrant for
Enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance Platforms

New York and Den Bosch, the Netherlands, September 27, 2013 – BWise, a NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. company (Nasdaq: NDAQ) and a global leader in Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) software, is pleased to announce that it is once again positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for Enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance Platforms in Gartner’s September 24, 2013 report by French Caldwell and John A. Wheeler. Sixteen companies across the globe are positioned in the report based on an evaluation of “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute.”

The Gartner Magic Quadrant report states, “The GRC market is nine years old, and buyers have high expectations for the performance of GRC solutions against a wide variety of use cases. Differentiation today is about the ability to deliver against multiple use cases, and provide advanced risk management functionality, with analysis of the impact of risks on strategic objectives and business performance, domain expertise in multiple highly regulated industries, ease of use — including mobile capabilities — and configurability.”

“We are proud to see industry-leading recognition for BWise’s vision and ability to execute,” said Lars Ottersgård, Senior Vice President, Market Technology, NASDAQ OMX. “At NASDAQ OMX we continue to be motivated by a strong desire to help our companies be more transparent, strategic and efficient. We see GRC as a key indicator of business performance and stability.”

NASDAQ OMX acquired BWise in 2012 to offer solid governance, risk and compliance solutions to public and private company clients who are dealing with ever-increasing regulations and, subsequently, greater exposure to risk. The alignment of BWise’s GRC platform with select NASDAQ OMX corporate solutions like NASDAQ OMX’s premium board portal and media monitoring solutions, as well as the company’s market surveillance platform for brokers, exchanges and regulators, has created a new generation of GRC solutions that enable companies to be in control of their reputational and financial risks.

According to the report, “Specifically, as GRC adapts to social, third-party monitoring and operational technology requirements, the volume of use cases will expand beyond what is reasonable to be included directly on the platform. With the proliferation of use cases, the platform will need to integrate with many more external data sources and applications, thus reversing what has been the evolution during the past six years to support most GRC use cases directly on the platform.”

“For almost twenty years, BWise has worked to assist organizations to track measure and manage their key organizational risks which enable them to continuously balance performance and risks,” said Luc Brandts, BWise, CTO and Founder. “We believe that the continuation of the positioning of BWise in the Leaders Quadrant is a reflection of how we have evolved and expanded; especially integrating select NASDAQ OMX solutions and continuing to realize our vision.”
