Bill 198
Bill 198 is an act put into place by the Ontario Government providing authority for the Ontario Securities Commission over corporate controls. Specifically, the OSC is given power to enact rules requiring audit committees, requiring systems of internal controls, requiring disclosure controls and procedures, requiring chief executive officers and chief financial officers to provide certifications related to internal controls and to disclosure controls and procedures, and defining auditing standards for the reporting of internal controls.
