IT Governance

IT Governance is a subset of a company’s corporate governance strategy. As IT grows in importance in an organization and permeates a business, it presents risks for a company and it must be controlled. IT Governance focuses specifically on information technology systems, their performance and risk management. The primary goals of IT Governance are to assure that the investments in IT generate business value, and to mitigate the risks that are associated with IT.

Have your IT control in order

IT Governance compliance presents a myriad of challenges. Typically, many of the duties associated with IT Governance are performed by IT professionals who may not be informed of the requirements of compliance. Non-compliance, not having your IT controls in order, missing a deadline or reporting a ‘material weakness’ in your IT controls, can at times even result in a significant loss for the enterprise.
